Our coaches have many years of experience and have come together to form a cooperative designed to meet the needs of business professionals in Calgary.
Vicki Goodfellow Duke
Vicki Goodfellow Duke is Director of Outspoken Communications. She has extensive experience in coaching both adults and children.
Vicki has been teaching Speech in the Faculty of Communications at Mount Royal University (since 1991) teaching Public Speaking, and Rhetoric. She taught Speech Arts and Drama for The Mount Royal Conservatory from 1990 until 2011, and was the personal coach of the First Place Winner in the World Public Speaking Championships, held in Cyprus, Nicosia in 2005.
Vicki was a National Examiner for Speech and Drama for The Royal Conservatory of Toronto from 1996 to 2001. Vicki holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, and a Licentiate in Speech Communications from Trinity-Guildhall, London. She has given workshops and adjudicated festivals across Canada.
Vicki is the recipient of numerous national and international awards for her writing.
Peter Skagen is an actor, author and coach. He is the owner of Deep Image Consulting and the Instructor/Owner of Audition Hell, a popular training program for Actors.
Peter is a screenwriter, and well-known ﬁlm and television actor. Peter holds an MA from California State University. He is the author of Story and Craft: How Not To Suck At Screen Acting.
Jonathan has hosted countless events and prepped many people for media appearances. He is a broadcaster and former associate producer for The Calgary Eyeopener and The Homestretch on CBC Calgary.
In addition to his voiceover/production business ToonVox (www.toonvox.com), he voices and produces videos, commercials and cartoons. Onscreen, he has worked with visionaries like Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain) and Kevin Costner (Open Range) and has appeared in television hits including Touch the Top of the World and Hell on Wheels.
Onstage, he has written and performed many educational and entertaining productions with performance groups including the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.
Currently at Mount Royal University, he has been teaching public speakers in text interpretation, character voicing, dialects, dramatic and public speaking since 1992.
He is also a founding member of Calgary’s comic a cappella group, the Heebee-jeebees (www.heebee-jeebees.com).
